Leo Rautins Steps Down

Leo Rautins has stepped down as coach of the Canadian Men’s Basketball Team yesterday. He made the announcement on a conference call after Canada’s loss to Panama today  91-89 at the FIBA Americas Olympic Qualifying Tournament. This loss has eliminated all of Canada’s Olypic hopes for London 2012 which they failed to qualify for. Rautins said “The players have given me everything that I’ve asked (but) I think for the benefit of this program going forward, a new voice in the locker-room will be the best thing“, who has been coaching the National team since 2005. It’s going to be interesting to see what direction Canada will go next in looking for their next Head Coach.
