Miami Heat forward LeBron James has won his 3rd MVP Award in the last 4 seasons. A source close to James said that he was contacted by the league offices today about winning the MVP and will be presented with the trophy by commissioner David Stern on Sunday afternoon in Miami before Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semis’s against the Indiana Pacers.  James enters some very elite company with his 3rd MVP award with the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Moses Malone. The votes will for this years award will be revealed on Saturday, with the like of Kevin Durant, Chris Paul and Kobe Bryant as the runners up. Of course i would believe LeBron would trade in all of those MVP Awards for a NBA Title. Let’s see if he can finally get the job done.

Hornets Trade Chris Paul, Then NBA Blocks It

December 9, 2011 Leave a comment

Yesterday, early evening the news began to spread around the globe. Chris Paul had been traded to the Lakers part of a 3 team deal that would send Pau Gasol to the Rockets and Lamar Odom to the Hornets. Many shocked and a bit confused feeling that the Lakers gave up a bit too much for the All-Star PG. Then all of a sudden breaking news once again in the early hours of the night, that the trade had been put on hold due to a few NBA owners displeasure of the deal. Now the the Hornets are owned by the league (NBA) but no one ever thought that the league would be interfering with team operations. Finally just before 11pm ET it was announced that the once blockbuster trade had been vetoed by the league citing “for basketball reasons”. This si not sitting well not only with all the players and teams involved but also players around the league and the media as well. Later on David Stern has been quoted saying “He will not allow a player to dictate where he plays”, all of a sudden. Once again the NBA is in the hot seat, this is a major blow to the league and also the CBA agreement they just signed. Chris Paul is filing to appeal the decision along with the Rockets and Hornets. At this point only time will tell what will happen.
