Penn State Sanctions

It was only a matter of time before the governing body of the NCAA came down on the University of Penn State following the charges against assistant coach Jerry Sandusky and also the cover up of it all by the late Joe Paterno. Penn State was punished with a $60 million dollar fine and a 4 year bowl ban. As well as vacating wins from 1998-2011 which is 112 in total.  Read more…

Concensus Reached For A BCS Playoff

Teh BCS commissioners and Notre Dame athletic director have reached a consensus on a 4 team playoff system that could begin as early as 2012. It first has to be approved by the BCS presidential oversight committee who will be meeting on June 28th in Washington DC. Read more.

Joe Paterno to Retire at Seasons End

Penn State’s Joe Paterno has announced that he’ll be retiring at the end of the season. He advised the team today in a 10-15 minute meeting of  his decision. There was more than enough pressure coming from around the country brought on by the allegation of child abuse against one of his former assistants.
